for my breeding program it is an important piece to the puzzle to try to make "my
perfect " dwarf and dragging a rabbit to the shows just exposes them to a higher
percentage of risk (yes, I'm being a protective mom! Weird, I know!) In the last
couple of years I started showing nationally, the first being the ARBA Convention
in Texas 2006 then the Netherland Dwarf Nationals in Ventura California spring of
2007 then at the ARBA Convention in Grand Rapid MI fall of 2007 and I would
recommend this experience to everyone, yes it is a big expense and a lot of stress
but oh what fun and great people you meet!
Shows are a mixed event for me, I
love the people and seeing friends
but the stress of getting there and
transportation of the bunnies takes
it's toll. My husband Mike, although
he helps with the bunnies on the
farm hates the shows and with me
also running my own business, well
I just don't put as much priority on
showing as I should. Also my
philosophy on showing rabbits is I
rarely show rabbits that I purchase,
it's mostly home grown bunnies
that I show, my reason being is
when I decide to purchase a rabbit
