This is the "labor of love" group is for me. When we started in Netherlands way back in 1998 it was with a little chestnut buck from Jean Safford named Rhupert and a orange doe name Safford's Red Riding Hood. Wow have our oranges come a long way as all oranges have over the years and they will continue to always be my biggest challenge to make the perfect orange (but I did see one this year at nationals a doe belonging to Bertha Ainsworth, giving me hope it can be accomplished!) My good friend Deanna Elkins of Dad's Rabbitry has supplied me with some pretty nice himis just to use in my shaded program. And a new project for this year, Trey King's beloved steels, just a couple but I have the necessary ingredients to make hopefully some nice steels in time. |
